CJI Altamas Kabir inaugurates new Orissa High Court Building

TNI Bureau: Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir inaugurated the new Orissa High Court building in Cuttack on Sunday. Governor MC Bhandare and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

While addressing the gathering, CJI Kabir admitted that the number of judges in the Orissa High Court was less, but he assured that the matter would be looked into.

Currently, the Orissa High Court has a strength of 22 judges, but only 13 judges have been appointed so far.

CJI Altamas Kabir also said that the growing number of litigations in the country has made the situation like a pressure cooker and it could be handled by strenthening alternative dispute redressal mechanism.
