Cyclone Alert issued off Tamil Nadu Coast

TNI Bureau: While the United States is reeling under the impact of Superstorm Sandy, cyclone alert has been issued in India’s Tamil Nadu coast. The depression has been formed in the Bay of Bengal – 350 km off the Chennai Coast. It is supposed to take the shape of a cyclone in the next 24 hours.

The Cyclone may cause huge landfall between Nagapattinam and Nellore (South Andhra Pradesh) by Tuesday evening. Chennai has already started witnessed rains.

The possible Cyclone may affect the areas in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Fishermen in Chennai, Puducherry and Nagapattinam have been asked not to venture into the sea.
