TNI Bureau: Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav hinted at the possible formation of third front, which will play a key role in the upcoming elections 2014. He appealed all the smaller parties to unite together to take on the UPA and NDA.
Mulayam, who supports the UPA at the Centre, slammed the government for slow economy and poverty. Addressing at his party’s national executive in Kolkata on Wednesday, he predicted neither UPA nor NDA would be able to form the government in 2014 at the Centre without the support of smaller regional parties, which are not part of their alliances.
He indicated the formation of non-UPA, non-NDA Third Front, which would be more powerful and form the government. Since both UPA and NDA have failed in bringing economic stability, the SP is the ultimate choice, which may lead the third front.

His speech suggested that his party is ready for a larger role at the Centre. He may approach all other smaller parties to form the third front to take on the Congress and BJP. He urged his party members to fulfill their commitments that had been made during election campaign.
Mulayam made it clear that his party is not confined to Uttar Pradesh; rather its wings should be extended to other parts of the country to work at national level.
Mulayam blasted on the UPA over coal block allocations and other scams. Earlier on Tuesday, he had said Congress as directionless.
