Donations pour in for Odisha CM’s Relief Fund
It’s really heartening to see the generosity of people and organisations in Odisha, as they have come out to support the cyclone and flood-hit people in the state. Everyday, huge money is being donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, which is definitely a positive sign.
The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and the Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL) [Coal India’s CSR Fund], took the lead by donating Rs 50 crore each separately to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) donated Rs 1 crore to the CM’s Relief Fund.
Other donations came from IDCO (Rs 10 crore), POSCO India (Rs 1 crore), Tripura Government (Rs 1 crore), IMFA (Rs 50 lakh), Bank of India (Rs 2 crore), Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Association (Rs 25 lakh), Bhushan Steel (Rs 25 lakh), Ind-Bharat Energy (Rs 50 lakh), Bhubaneswar Power Private Ltd (Rs 10 lakh) and Odisha Small Industries Corporation (Rs 50 lakh).
Many other organisations and corporates too contributed to the CM’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Notable among them are Punjab National Bank (Rs 50 lakh), HUDCO (Rs 12.55 lakh), OUAT (Rs 10 lakh), The Press Club of Odisha (Rs 1 lakh), Tennis Star Sania Mirza (Rs 1 lakh), Ruchi Masala (Rs 2.5 lakh) and Cuttack Textile Merchant Association (Rs 2 lakh).
