It may sound odd, but true! The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has begun excavation to find out the treasure of 1,000 tonnes of gold from a site, not based on its findings, but on the dreams of a Seer (Sadhu), who made a sensational claim about these huge gold deposits.

The sadhu, Shobhan Sarkar convinced Union Minister Charan Das Mahant, the UP Government and the ASI to excavate the remains of Raja Rao Bux Singh’s fort at Daundaia Kheda village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh where the King had reportedly buried 1,000 tonnes of gold before he was killed by the British during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.

Shobhan Sarkar has argued that if the gold deposits are indeed found under the fort, it could help India partly resolve its financial crisis. He is very much confident about his dream and said that the government won’t regret for believing his words. He further claimed of possessing a ‘secret map’, which will unearth the treasure inside the fort. It might take at least 45 days to complete the excavation.
