The newly crowned living world’s tallest man is now Sultan Kosen. He is the tallest living man officially measured by Guinness World Records (Guinness Book of Records) is from Turkey, with a height of 8 feet 3 inches (251.4 cm) tall. Kosen first entered the record books at 8 feet 1 inch; at his next measurement, he was listed as 8 feet 2 inches, and now he’s achieved his ultimate adult height at 8 feet 3 inches. He’s also in the record books for having the largest hands (11.22 inches) and largest feet (14.4 inches).

Kosen was born on 10 December, 1982 in Ankara Turkey. He is one of the five siblings with three brothers and one sister. Everyone in his family is normal in size. Because of his huge personality, Kosen was never able to finish school, but works seldom as a farmer to sustain his family.
Throughout his life, Sultan has undergone many surgeries. He suffers from knee pain and requires canes for walking and doing his chores. His condition is known as ‘Acromegaly,’ which is caused when pituitary tumor causes the release of excessive growth hormone. Unusual height in itself does not translate to an automatic link. In the year 2010, Mr. Sultan Kosen was treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center for a disorder called acromegaly and for his abnormal growth.
The researchers at the University now confirmed that Sultan has stopped growing. Dr. Jason Sheehan, who performed surgical procedure in 2010 on Kosen’s pituitary gland said, “Kosen, 29, might now guide a longer life because institutions of higher education of Virginia Medical Center specialists have helped him stop rising.” He also said,” The surgery, the length of with new medicine provided by researchers, has met a two-year window of success.”
