TNI Bureau: ‘Challa’, the first released song of Yash Chopra’s much hyped Diwali release, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, was launched on YouTube on Monday and received huge appreciation within no time. The number featuring Shah Rukh Khan has so far crossed 13.5 lakh hits and over one lakh likes. The complete album is scheduled to be released on October 6, 2012.

The song is penned by Gulzaar and the music has been composed by AR Rahman and undoubtedly the legendary duo’s mesmerizing music have made this youthful romantic number an absolute treat for the ears.

In the video of ‘Challa ‘, Shah Rukh is seen playing a guitar as he roams around the streets of London. The character represents a man in his 20’s and living to his fullest. He is working at a car wash and at the vegetable market, trying to make ends meet and in every cut the essence of live and cheer is there. At the climax he comes face to face with Katrina Kaif, presenting some typical King Khan facial expressions; of course lovely. King Khan and gorgeous Katrina have been paired for the first time in this film.

‘Challa’ has been sung by famous Sufi singer Rabbi Shergill and bears his trademark style that we had seen in ‘Bulla’ (2004). Some people are not satisfied with the number complaining the song to be just a playful update of Rabbi’s biggest hit till date, ‘Bulla’. This song is in Punjabi language.

Shah Rukh is much excited about ‘Challa’. He tweeted: “The Video of the First Song CHALLA from “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” http://youtu.be/_q5duWVfDJo  ……lyrics meaning to follow”.

Shah Rukh’s return in a romantic avatar has been well accepted again and the song has already created quite a buzz. The film, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, is said to be based on Yash Chopra’s 1973 hit, Daag.

The film is all about an ex-army man, leading a double life in London who needs to choose between his wife and muse.

The film will be released on 13th November 2012.
