TNI Bureau: The Election Commission has finally given the go-ahead for the big battles in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Himachal Pradesh will have single phase polling on November 4, while Gujarat will go to polls on December 13 and 17.

Chief Election Commissioner announced the dates at a press conference this afternoon. VS Sampath Counting of votes in both states will be held on December 20. Polling will be held for 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh. Around 45 lakh voters will exercise their franchise.

In Gujarat, polling will be held in 182 seats. Around 3.78 crore voters will cast their votes. Interestingly, BJP is in power in both Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The Congress wants to wrest these states from the saffron party, but will it succeed? The time will say.
