Odisha Assembly begins Today, Stormy Session Ahead
The Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly begins today, but was adjourned after paying tribute to former Speaker Somnath Rath. The session will resume tomorrow and transact regular business. It is expected to be stormy this time, as the Opposition may seek to corner the government over the issues of Bhushan disaster and Itishree Pradhan murder case.
On the opening day of the Session, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved a motion, paying respect to the departed leaders and defence personnel, who have sacrificed their lives. The House observed a one-minute silence.
Leader of Opposition, Bhupinder Singh, BJP Legislature Party leader, Jaynarayan Mishra and CPI leader Adikanda Sethi too condoled the demise of the departed leaders. The Winter Session of the Odisha Assembly will continue till December 26. The Supplementary Budget will be presented tomorrow.
