Beni predicts Samajwadi Party’s Funeral in 2014
Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav might have saved Congress by not withdrawing support at Centre, but the war of words continued. Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma directly attacked the SP by predicting party’s funeral in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
Verma predicted that the SP won’t get more than four seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Congress will contest all 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. While Congress win 40 seats, BSP may get 36, but SP will get only four seats for its funeral procession, he said while addressing a ‘Holi milan’ function at Uttraula on Friday evening.
It can be noted that the Beni’s statement was the reply to Mulayam Singh, who had called Congress ‘Cheat’ and ‘clever’ and Beni had no status in the state. He alleged that the SP contested Gujarat Assembly elections to benefit Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Beni also questioned on the free distribution of laptops in the state. He alleged that the party was distributing free laptops from the funds, which were meant for development for Dalits in the state.
However, Congress distanced itself from the statement saying it was Beni’s own views.
