G.I. Joe: Retaliation – Movie Review
‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ is a sure-shot blockbuster like its prequel ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’. The sci-fi action film by director Jon M. Chu is filled with amazing action sequences and all of those have been executed with great expertise.
Distributed by Paramount Pictures, ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ is based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe toy, comic and media franchises. The film features an ensemble cast, starring Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson, with Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, and Lee Byung-hun reprising their roles from the first film.
Plot – the retaliation team is on the mission to fight with their mortal enemy Cobra but they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.
Bruce Willis actually steals the show with his legendary performance as General Joe Colton. He is the original G.I. Joe who created the ultra-elite fighting force and comes out to restore honor back to the G.I. Joes in the film. Willis has once again proved his acting and action abilities through this movie.
When it comes to performance all the characters have done justice to their roles. Good news is that action is the heart of this movie and that part has amazingly been implemented by the veterans.
The Ninja battle on the icy mountains, the swift footwork and the sword fights are awesome and amazing.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation comes in the ‘must-watch’ category for its well performed action sequences.
