An ancient temple of 17th century has been unearthed in Odisha’s Kendrapada district. Some workers discovered a three-ft-tall stone structure (Dadhinauti) of the temple while carrying out a construction work for the district planning office on Wednesday afternoon.
A team of experts from state archaeology department (SAD) have visited the site to examine the ruins of the temple. They will begin excavation in that area to discover the temple.

Members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and BJP also met the district Collector and requested him to stop the construction work near the site.
The researchers believed that the temple was perhaps built in 10th century AD. But the Muslim rulers might have demolished it in 16th century.
The stone structure of the temple is believed to be of the Baladev jew. The destroyed temple was later rebuilt in mid 18th century during the regime of Marathas.
