TNI Bureau: Amidst the political war of words between Congress and BJP over the killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops, the National Security Advisor (NSA) Shivshankar Menon played a role of mediator to convince the opposition party and brief about the firing at the Line of Control.

Menon reached Sushma Swaraj’s residence to brief the issue and latest developments on LoC after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tried to convince Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj. He assured that the BJP will be informed about the updates and situation. He appealed not to politicise the issue.

India is holding discussion with Pak counterparts about the firing at LoC. Everything will be sorted out soon.

BJP took on the Congress after two India soldiers were killed and one of them was beheaded by Pakistani armies in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on January 8.
