Paras Bhasin Murder Case: In a Brief

Date:

TNI Bureau: Paras Bhasin, who was found dead near a railway track in East Delhi on last Saturday, the case took another twist when his wife claimed that he has committed suicide. However, his parents and relatives alleged that he was killed and his in-laws were behind the murder.

While police believe in his wife’s statement, the victim’s family’s allegations could not be ignored. The tattoo artist Paras had a love marriage nearly four months ago. As per the statement by his brother, Paras’ wife Shaily’s family was against the relationship. Later, his wife continued to live at his in-laws home. However, her parents were not aware of their secret marriage.

Paras could not hide his marriage for a long time. He on August 24 disclosed about the marriage to Shaily’s’s family. However, her family was hesitant to give consent to their marriage. Paras’ family met Shaily’s mother to discuss about the marriage. It is reported that Shaily’s father had inquired about Paras’ family.

Later, Paras had met Shaily’s father on August 29 to talk about the relationship. But he was reportedly humiliated.

Paras was found dead on September 1 outside his home. His family is alleging that he was killed. Even a group of around 50 organised a protest march from Paras’ residence at Subhash Nagar in west Delhi to the DCP’s office in Rajouri Garden, demanding action against his wife’s family.

Surbhi, Paras’ sister has blamed in –laws of her brother to be responsible for the death, claiming the casualty to be a clear case of murder.

“Earlier, the police said that it’s a case of suicide. When the media held a presser, they said it’s a case of murder, now after the results from the forensic laboratory, they have again changed it to a case of suicide. I saw my brother’s face, it was in pieces. It will not be into pieces if a train ran over it, they are just trying to fool us,” she has reportedly said.

Answering to the allegation that the victim’s head was cut into pieces, police said that it was not cut into pieces, but crushed. Police also said about their planning to question the drivers of the trains as family members of Bhasin alleges that he was killed earlier somewhere else and the dead body was brought to be thrown on the railway track.
