Linkan Subudhi to get Biju Patnaik Bravery Award
The young social activist from Delhi, Linkan Subudhi, has been chosen for the State Bravery Award (Biju Patnaik Bravery Award) for her audacity and courage in fighting the social evils. The decision was taken by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik yesterday.
Linkan, who was brutally attacked by a woman and another man in Noida for opposing child-marriage, recovered fast and returned to Bhubaneswar last week. She met the CM at the State Secretariat and thanked him for the support he received from the state government at difficult times.
Linkan, an IT Engineer by profession, has vowed to continue her social work with renewed energy and work for the upliftment of the downtrodden and needy people. Naveen Patnaik presented Linkan with a Silver Artifact during the meeting.
