Odisha Introduces Uniform Reservation Policy for Professional Courses

TNI Bureau: The Odisha Government has introduced a uniform reservation policy for admissions to professional educational institutions across the state from the 2025-26 academic session.

As per a notification issued by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, 22.5% seats will be reserved for STs, 16.25% for SCs and 11.25% for SEBCs in all professional courses, including Engineering, Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Management, Polytechnic and ITI programmes.

The policy will be implemented uniformly across institutions covered under the Odisha Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2007. However, seats under the All India Quota will remain outside its purview, while existing reservations for EWS and other eligible categories will continue as per current rules.
