After redefining poverty in its own terms, the Congress Party stunned the nation today, when its leaders went on the record to boast that meals are available at Rs 5 in Delhi and Rs 12 in Mumbai. The leaders, who have been under fire for such remarks are Rasheed Masood and Raj Babbar. There is a huge uproar over such remarks across the country.

It all started when Congress Spokesperson Raj Babbar made a statement at the press meet with full confidence that even today he can get a complete meal at just Rs 12 in Mumbai. He further argued that a full plate of rice, dal and a lot of vegetable dishes will be available at Rs 12.

Later Rasheed Masood told the media that in Delhi’s Jama Masjid, a meal at Rs 5 is very much available. The Congress has maintained a silence over the matter so far. However, the news channels have picked up those comments and holding debates in which common people are seen slamming the Congress leaders and the government.
