During their meeting, Dr. Patra presented formal requests for the establishment of a Medical College within Gajapati district and for increased support under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).

The BJD MP further implored the central government to bolster initiatives related to minority education, skill development programs, residential facilities for girls, and community infrastructure across the district. He emphasized that despite its distinct designation and significant tribal and minority demographic, Gajapati grapples with persistent challenges in healthcare, education, and overall socio-economic progress.

Dr. Patra underscored the potential impact of establishing a Medical College, stating it would substantially enhance healthcare accessibility for residents in the remote and underserved areas of southern Odisha.

Reports indicate that Union Minister Kiren Rijiju provided a attentive reception to the issues articulated by the BJD leader, assuring that the proposals and concerns raised would undergo thorough review.

Following the deliberations, Dr. Patra conveyed optimism regarding the Central Government’s commitment to providing dedicated support for the inclusive and comprehensive development of Gajapati district.
