TNI Bureau: The Biju Janata Dal’s youth and student organizations initiated statewide demonstrations across Odisha on Wednesday, protesting the alleged NEET question paper leak. They are demanding decisive action against those implicated and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds.
These demonstrations were coordinated by the Biju Yuva Janata Dal and the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal in numerous districts throughout the state.
A significant protest assembly took place outside Utkal University, spearheaded by Biju Yuva Janata Dal state president Chinmay Sahoo and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal president Ipsita Sahoo. Hundreds of students and youth activists participated, voicing their opposition to the Central Government and alleged discrepancies in the NEET examination process.
Comparable rallies and demonstrations were also conducted in Cuttack, Berhampur, Baripada, Angul, Jajpur, and Balasore. In Cuttack, party members protested outside Christ College concerning the NEET examination controversy.
During the rallies, student and youth leaders asserted that the NEET paper leak has endangered the academic prospects of numerous students nationwide. They contended that recurring instances of paper leaks and examination irregularities highlight significant systemic weaknesses under the Central Government’s purview.
BJD leaders have called for an unbiased and transparent inquiry into the matter, advocating for severe penalties for all individuals involved in the alleged malpractice.
Furthermore, they implored the central government to implement immediate reforms within the examination framework to reinstate trust among students and parents.
The party cautioned that if the Central Government fails to implement strong measures, the protests will escalate in the near future.
