TNI Bureau: The Supreme Court has directed the release of Dara Singh, convicted in the 1999 murder case of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons, by August 15, according to his counsel A.P. Singh. He said the State Sentence Review Board had informed the court about the matter and that the case will be heard again on August 19 if the release does not take place by the deadline.
Dara Singh has been in prison for the last 26 years. He was convicted in connection with the killing of Graham Staines and his two minor sons on January 22, 1999.
According to the case, Staines and his sons were sleeping in a vehicle when it was allegedly set on fire by Dara Singh and his associates. The accused were later found guilty by the CBI court in Bhubaneswar.
