Ganjam on High Alert Amid Rise in COVID-19 Cases in Andhra Pradesh

TNI Bureau: Ganjam has been placed on high alert amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO) has directed all government hospitals and Community Health Centres (CHCs) in the district to remain vigilant and strengthen preparedness measures.

COVID-19 testing has been made mandatory for all Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) patients. Hospitals have also been asked to test at least five per cent of patients with Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and submit daily surveillance reports.

Health institutions have been instructed to keep oxygen supplies, isolation wards, medicines and other essential medical equipment ready to deal with any possible COVID-19 cases.
