Maoists Infighting: 10 Killed in Jharkhand

At least 10 members of CPI (Maoists), were killed in a deadly clash with Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a rival splinter group in Jharkhand. The unprecedented incident came as a big relief to the police, as the rebels made their task easier.

The incident occurred in Chatra district of Jharkhand. Among the dead, four were from the Maoists Madhya zone. They held top posts in the Maoists organisation. One AK 47 rifle, two .303 police rifles, three .315 guns, one carbine, cane bombs, large number of empty cartridges, literature and pithhoos were recovered from the spot, The Hindu reported.

The TPC, which is mainly active in Khalari coal mines area in Ranchi and Betla in Latehar, was founded by Brajesh Ganju alias Sardar ji, a former CPI (Maoists) member in 2001. The group has been opposing the dominance of upper caste members among the Maoists.
