The multi-crore AgustaWestland chopper scam has taken an interesting turn with the CBI filing FIR against former IAF Chief SP Tyagi and several others, including his cousins Julie and Docsa. The FIR names four firms and 12 people.
The CBI has registered a case in the VVIP chopper deal under Sections 120 and 420 of the IPC. Raids are being conducted in many places in Delhi, NCR and Chandigarh in connection with the case.
It was alleged that Rs 362 crore kickback was paid by the Italian firm to secure the VVIP Chopper deal, which was worth Rs 3,600 crore.
