Dead Man Down – Movie Review
‘Dead Man Down’ is a thriller crime (from Hollywood) by Danish director Niels Arden Oplev. The film stars Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Dominic Cooper and Terrence Howard in the lead roles.
The Story – Victor (Colin Farrell) is a rising underworld player, who has entered to the crime empire run by ruthless kingpin Alphonse (Terrence Howard), to make Alphonse pay for destroying his once happy life. As he meticulously orchestrates his vengeance from his high-rise home, Victor watches and is watched by Beatrice (Noomi Rapace), a mysterious young girl who lives in the apartment across from his. When she uncovers Victor’s dark secrets, she threatens to expose him unless he helps her carry out her own campaign of retribution. Each hooked on avenging the past, they devise a violent plan that could change their worlds forever.
‘Dead Man Down’ marks the director Niels Arden Oplev’s first film since the acclaimed Swedish international hit ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ in 2009. The director has once again proved his abilities in a crime genre film of Hollywood.
Colin Farrell, lead actor in the film has done an outstanding job. Like his earlier films S.W.A.T and ‘Imbrues’, Farrell has executed his role quiet well. And especially the action sequences are tough but significant.
Noomi Rapace, the female lead actor, who also happens to be the actor of the award winning film ‘The girl with the dragon tattoo’ looks mesmerizing on-screen.
A special ovation for Paul Cameroon for the outstanding cinematography of the film.
Soundtrack by Jacob Groth in the film is the most captivating element.
