Chandigarh Gangrape Story Fabricated, claim Police
TNI Bureau: While the country is outraged over the heinous crimes like rape and gangrape, fake gangrape was reported in Chandigarh. A woman alleged that she was gangraped in a moving car while going for an interview, but the story turned out to be false.
The woman is in fact an accused. She made up a false story after she came out of jail on bail.
Police have arrested the woman Gurveer Kaur (24) and her aides Rohtash, who claimed to have brought the woman to hospital in her unconscious state. He along with Ramesh, and Sunil Kumar have been charged under sections 420 (cheating), 195 (submitting false evidence to get someone imprisoned for life), 211 (false charge with intent to injure) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Police alleged that there was a consensual sex between Gurveer and Rohtash to prove rape. The entire development came amidst protests and outrage over the growing number of crime against women in the country.
Earlier, Gurveer and her boyfriend Sunil Kumar were charged with torturing Sunil’s wife. They were accused of injecting her with unsterilized needles. She turned blind due to repeated assault. Later, the doctors at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh operated on her eyes.
Sunil’s father-in-law took the matter to the Punjab director general of police in January last year. Gurveer and Sunil were charged with attempt to murder. During their stay in jail, they became friends with Rohtash and Ramesh and they became the part of the conspiracy what was reported on Monday.
The evil instinct seems to occupy the human society through women. The female criminal may take advantage of the strong laws that are the need of the hours for the safety of women.
