The protesters had gathered outside the court on Tuesday, which was set to pronounce the sentence against Chautala and his son. When they tried to enter the court premises, police resorted to lathicharge, used batons and teargas to prevent them from entering the court complex.

The proceeding of the court was also affected due to the clash between police and Chautala supporters.

Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and 53 others were found guilty on January 16 of illegally recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers in the state in 2000. The court will pronounce the sentence today.
