MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi sent to Jail in 2005 Case

TNI Bureau: Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi, who is a MP from Andhra Pradesh, has been sent to jail after he surrendered in a Hyderabad court today in connection with a case filed in 2005. He had been accused of criminal intimidation and promoting enmity between Hindu and Muslim.

Asaduddin Owaisi is the brother of Akbaruddin, who was arrested earlier for delivering a hate speech against a particular religious group last month in a rally.

Asaduddin has applied for his bail, which will be heard tomorrow. The court had asked him to appear in a case filed against him in 2005. He had been repeatedly avoiding his appearance in the court for which a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.
