TNI Bureau: Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay Chautala were convicted and taken into custody in connection with teachers’ recruitment scam. Their sentence will be pronounced on January 22.
Chautala and his son were found guilty along with 53 others in case of the recruitment of 3,206 junior basic trained (JBT) teachers. They had been chargesheeted by the CBI on June, 2008, in the scam that had occurred during 1999-2000.
The CBI had alleged that Chautala and his son Ajay had used forged documents to appoint the teachers.
