Pak violates Ceasefire again at LoC

Date:

TNI Bureau: The situation remained tensed at the Line of Control (LoC) as the ceasefire violations were reported by Pakistan troops even after the flag meet between the commanders of two countries. Two rounds of firing were reported near LoC last evening. However, the Indian Army did not retaliate.

Pakistani troops targeted two Indian army posts along the LoC in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Later, fresh round of firing was reported in the Krishnaghati sector. The firing lasted for a brief period yesterday evening. This is for the fifth time that Pakistan violated ceasefire after the flag meet that was held on Monday afternoon.

Even though, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sent out a tough message saying that there cannot be business as usual with Pakistan, terming the killing of two Indian soldiers as ‘unacceptable’, Pakistan’s attitude remained firm over its claim.

Soon after Dr Singh broke his silence after a week over the mutilation of the bodies of the two Indian jawans, Lance Naik Hemraj Singh and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh at LoC, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar alleged that there is “war mongering coming from across the border.” She said that Pakistan is committed to maintain peace and relations with India normal. However, the statements coming from the highest levels in India are disappointing, referring to Dr Singh’s messages.
