Martyr Hemraj Singh’s Family ends Fast

TNI Bureau: The family members of martyr Lance Naik Hemraj Singh, who was brutally killed by Pakistan troops at LoC, finally ended their fast today. They had been demanding  the government for past four days to put pressure on Pakistan to get the head of the soldier.

The family’s fast ended after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav promised them to give all possible help and announced Rs 25 lakh as compensation today.

“It’s our duty to respect and honour our martyrs. No compensation is enough but it’s the duty of government to support the family,” said Akhilesh.

Apart from Akhilesh, BJP chief Nitin Gadkari and his senior party leaders met the family.

Even Army Chief General Bikram Singh promised to visit the family to condole the death of the Martyr. The army and Centre have announced a compensation of Rs 46 lakh.
