Pakistan summons Indian Envoy, lodges Protest

TNI Bureau: Pakistan has summoned the Indian Ambassador to Islamabad to lodge a strong protest over the death of another Pakistani soldiers and asked India to stop the firing at the LoC. Indian Envoy Sharat Sabharwal was reportedly served a demarche.

Earlier, one Pakistani soldier was killed in the midst of escalation of tension in Poonch area on January 6. The Pakistani forces retaliated by killing two Indian soldiers and mutilating their bodies, which triggered a massive outrage.

As tension prevails along with the LoC, Pakistan has stopped all trade activities by blocking the trucks from India, which are laden with essential items. Pakistan has also suspended the Poonch-Rawalakot bus service for three days.
