Date:

TNI Bureau: TV actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani, who is now the Rajaya Sabha MP of BJP, has sent a legal notice to Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam for his alleged derogatory remarks against her during a panel discussion on TV on Gujarat assembly elections on Thursday.

Irani felt very bad when Congress MP Nirupam commented, “You used to charge money for performing dance shows on TV, but now you are an election analyst”.

The BJP also demanded apology from Congress President Sonia Gandhi over Nirupam’s remarks against Smriti.

Reacting to the remarks, the BJP’s youth and women’s wings protested against Nirupam on Friday in Mumbai.
