Agni-1 successfully Test-fired off Odisha Coast

Balasore: India successfully test-fired nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface Agni-1 ballistic missile from Wheeler Island off Odisha coast to mark the special date 12-12-12. It was fired with a strike range of 700 km at around at 8.15 am on Wednesday.

The trial was conducted by the Strategic Forces Command personnel under the supervision of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The mission was described as successful.

The 15-metre-tall Agni-1 weighs 12 tonnes. It is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear payload of about 1000 kg. It is powered by both solid and liquid propellants.
