Rahul Gandhi to head Congress Panel for 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

TNI Bureau: Decks have been cleared for AICC General Secretary and Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi to take over the reigns of the Congress. Rahul has been appointed as the Head of the Congress Coordination Committee on 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Other members in the committee include Digvijaya Singh, Ahmed Patel, Janardan Dwivedi, Jairam Ramesh and Madhusudan Mistry.

The committee will handle the candidate selection process, campaign and analysis. Rahul Gandhi’s role as the Head of the panel becomes very crucial in the wake of reverses Congress is facing everywhere. Rahul Gandhi will be the Chairman of the committee.

Another sub-committee was formed to look after the pre-poll alliances. AK Antony will head that committee. Antony will also head the sub-committee on party manifesto. Digvijaya Singh will head the sub-committee on publicity.
