TNI Bureau: BJP MP and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur proved herself as bold and dauntless after she exposed a government doctor running a private hospital, which is against the law.
Navjot Kaur, who is the chief parliamentary secretary (health) of Punjab, caught Punjab Civil Medical Service (PCMS) doctor Samir Kaushal (50) while he was practicing at a private hospital in sector 70. The doctor is posted at the primary health centre (PHC) in Sangrur district.
Mrs Sidhu visited him giving her identity as a patient suffering from stomach ache. She hid her face with a veil identifying her as Nafisa, but then when got confirmed everything after talking to the doctor, did a missed call to call the cops, waited outside and revealed her original identity. The doctor was arrested late on Thursday evening.
An FIR was registered after deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal directed the police to investigate.The doctor was reportedly booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act for running a private business being a govt servant.
Kaur had operated the sting operation following a complaint by the panchayat president in Sangrur on August 6 about the deliberate absence of the doctor from his job and running of the private nursing home.
