Geetika suicide: Gopal Kanda surrenders, Arrested

Date:

TNI Bureau: After absconding for 10 days, former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda finally surrendered before police in early hours on Saturday. He was arrested in connection with his former employee Geetika Sharma’s suicide case.

Kanda had to surrender after his anticipatory bail plea was declined by the Delhi High Court and police arrested his brother Govind Kanda yesterday for allegedly helping Kanda to hide.

Delhi Police have conducted over 60 searches and raids in Haryana, Goa and Siliguri in West Bengal and 30 people have been questioned in connection with the case.

Reacting to Kanda’s arrest Geetika’s brother Ankit said that the accused got sufficient time to destroy evidence and his move to surrender is well planned.

Even Geetika’s Facebook account has been deactivated and Ankti alleged that Kanda was behind it.
