Over 51,000 Telephone Connections disconnected in India
TNI Bureau: In a stern action against fake telemarketing, the government has disconnected over 51,000 telephone connections of the subscribers, who have been involved in such activity without registering themselves as telemarketers.
Also notices have been served to nearly 88,300 subscribers, who are involved in similar violations, said Minister of State for Communications and IT, Milind Deora in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
As per the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2010, the subscriber, who is not registered with the telecom regulator TRAI as a telemarketer, is not allowed to make any commercial communications.
If the subscriber is found guilty of violating the rule, will be served a notice for disconnection.
