Madhya Pradesh Stampede Death Toll rises to 115

With more injured succumbing to the injuries and some dead bodies recovered from the river, the death toll in the stampede at Ratangarh Temple in Madhya Pradesh, has now reached 115.

Ratangarh-Temple-StampedeSome survivors have come up with shocking allegations that the policemen present at the spot, threw away dead and injured into the river when the stampede broke out. It was reported by The Hindustan Times. An injured victim told the media that some policemen threw him off the bridge when he said his brother died in the stampede.

The survivors also alleged that the policemen robbed the dead and injured of their belongings. The incident shamed the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh and raised a huge question mark on its efficiency to deal with such crisis.

According to the pilgrims, only nine constables and a sub-inspector were guarding the 500-metre bridge, which was crossed by over one lakh people.
