BSP expels Vijay Bahadur Singh for backing Modi

Date:

Days after he came out in support of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, saying the latter’s “puppy’ remark was misinterpreted, Hamirpur MP Vijay Bahadur Singh was expelled from the BSP on charges of going against the party’s “philosophy and principles”.

BSP-SymbolSingh, a first-time MP, has been denied ticket for the next Lok Sabha elections. It is strongly believed that he would be inducted into BJP soon and contest the next general elections on the saffron party’s ticket.

Earlier, Vijay Bahadur had termed Modi as a sensitive and compassionate person and said he never referred to any community in his “puppy” remark. Modi was misinterpreted, Singh claimed much to the annoyance and disbelief of BSP supremo Mayawati and other leaders of the party. He had also called Modi’s opponents as “rashtra drohis” or anti-nationals.
