Delhi Govt bans Ads on Autos and Taxis

Date:

The Delhi Government has banned advertisements on auto-rickshaws and taxis, saying the space was meant for helpline numbers and not commercial ads. The auto drivers are protesting against the ban. And, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal is supporting their cause.

Delhi-AutoKejriwal slammed Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit and questioned the alleged misuse of public money by her government through large hoardings across the national capital.

Currently, over 70,000 auto rickshaws are plying on the roads of Delhi. Many of them had put AAP ads on their autos. That probably prompted Sheila Dikshit to impose a ban on the advertisement.

Kejriwal has vowed to challenge Sheila Dikshit and said that AAP volunteers will put the party posters on 10,000 auto-rickshaws in the coming week and auto drivers will be compensated by the party if they are fined.
