German Bakery Blast: Himayat Baig gets Death Sentence

In a significant development, a Pune court has sentenced Mirza Himayat Baig to death in connection with the 2010 German Bakery blast, which killed 17 people and left 34 injured. Baig’s crime was termed as “rarest of rare”.

The court had found him guilty on April 15. He was the lone person in the German Bakery blast in Pune. Six other accused, including mastermind Yasin Bhatkal, are still absconding.
