TNI Bureau: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the United Arab Emirates on Friday has significantly bolstered strategic relations between the two nations, marked by the signing of several pivotal agreements.
During his trip to Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Modi engaged in high-level discussions with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. These discussions culminated in the finalization of key accords spanning defence cooperation, energy security, maritime infrastructure development, and substantial investment initiatives.
Notably, India and the UAE cemented a strategic defence partnership framework. Furthermore, agreements were reached concerning strategic petroleum reserves and the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The UAE also committed to nearly $5 billion in investments directed towards India’s infrastructure and financial sectors. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed, outlining plans for the development of a ship repair cluster in Vadinar, Gujarat.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi underscored the critical importance of peace and stability in West Asia. He also reiterated India’s steadfast commitment to its robust partnership with the UAE, particularly in light of escalating regional tensions.
