TNI Bureau: Senior journalist Purnendu Pattnaik breathed his last this morning at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. He was 53.
Pattnaik met with an accident a few days ago and was admitted to Capital Hospital after developing blood clots. He was discharged following initial treatment and returned to his residence in Puri.
However, his condition deteriorated on the day of Snana Purnima due to a brain hematoma. He was rushed back to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing treatment.
Despite the best efforts of doctors, he could not be saved. Following the completion of hospital formalities, his mortal remains will be taken to Swargadwar in Puri for the last rites.
A respected name in Odisha’s media fraternity, Pattnaik was known for his incisive reporting and commitment to journalism. Starting from radio, he worked in various TV channels for more than two decades. His untimely demise has left colleagues and readers in deep shock.
