Bus Fares Hiked in Odisha Following Diesel Price Increase

TNI Bureau: The Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) has revised fares for stage carriage buses across the state following an increase in diesel prices. The order was issued by the Transport Commissioner-cum-Chairman, STA Odisha.

According to the notification, diesel prices have increased from Rs. 92.62 per litre to Rs. 95.87 per litre. Due to the rise in fuel prices, bus fares have been increased with immediate effect.

As per the revised rates, ordinary bus fare has been increased from 88 paise per kilometre to 90 paise per kilometre, while express bus fare has gone up from 92 paise to 94 paise per kilometre.

Similarly, deluxe bus fare has been revised from Rs. 1.27 to Rs. 1.31 per kilometre. AC deluxe bus fare has increased from Rs. 1.55 to Rs. 1.59 per kilometre, while super deluxe bus fare has been raised from Rs. 2.41 to Rs. 2.47 per kilometre.

The revised fares will be applicable to all stage carriage buses other than town buses operating within Odisha.
