1) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the new campus of Xavier University at Nijigarh Kurki on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Apart from MBA, MHRM and MBA-RM courses, XUB is also offering undergraduate courses such as B.Com Accounting, B.Com Finance, B.M.S. HR and B.M.S. Marketing. It has the provision for Ph.D and research activities for 100 students. Currently, 27 students are pursuing Ph. D here.

2) Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda met Union MoS for Tourism and Culture, Sri Shripad Naik and sought adequate central assistance to hold the Nabakalebara 2015 in a proper manner.

3) Odisha’s IT Minister Pranab Prakash Das met Union IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad and demanded setting up of six more Software Technology Parks of India (STPIs) in the state. The new STPIs have been proposed at Jajpur, Sambalpur, Jeypore, Angul, Rayagada and Kalahandi. Currently, Odisha has STPIs at Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Brahmapur and Balasore.

4) Lord Jagannath’s ‘Bahuda Yatra’ or ‘Return Journey’ was held successfully with all deities reaching Sri Mandir by evening.
