First-ever tagging of Ganges River Dolphin in Assam

Marking a historic achievement for wildlife conservation, a Ganges River Dolphin has been tagged for the first time in Assam. Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav shared this information on his official X handle.

This ‘Project Dolphin’ is funded by MoEFCC and National CAMPA, and led by the Wildlife Institute of India in collaboration with Assam Forest Dept and Aaranyak.
