The chargesheet names several accused, including Shankar Prusti, Muna Mohanty, Suresh Nayak, Soumya Priyadarshini Samal, Rinku Maharana, Biranchi Nayak and Nitish Kumar, among others. Out of the 16 accused persons, nine were earlier arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch, while the remaining seven were arrested by the CBI and later produced before the court.

According to the CBI, the investigation suggests that more people may be involved in the scam. The agency has stated that further inquiry is underway and additional chargesheets may be filed in the coming days.

The SI exam scam triggered widespread outrage across Odisha, as thousands of candidates were affected due to alleged corruption and manipulation in the recruitment process. Following public pressure and demands for a fair probe, the state government handed over the case to the CBI.

The investigation has exposed serious irregularities in the recruitment system, including alleged financial dealings that compromised the fairness of the examination. The chargesheet has sparked political debate, with opposition parties questioning the government, while authorities have assured full cooperation with the CBI.

Officials say the filing of the chargesheet is an important step towards restoring public trust in recruitment examinations in the state.
