As reports emerge of the rise in cases of black fungus infections or ‘mucormycosis’ in survivors of Covid-19, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi has released an advisory for screening, diagnosis and management of the disease.
In Odisha, Khordha district has the most number of Covid active cases - 14,529 followed by Sundargarh (11,139), Cuttack (7,704), Sambalpur (4,712), Bargarh (4,539) and Angul (4,128).
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday sanctioned an amount of Rs 60 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) in order to enable local bodies to feed stray animals & birds during the Covid-19 lockdown.
