The annual rate of Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation rose to a record high of 14.55% for the month of March 2022 as compared to 7.89% in March 2021.

S&P BSE Sensex tanked 1,172 points or 2.01% to settle at 57,166 while the NSE Nifty 50 index dived 302 points or 1.73% to end at 17,173.

Twitter, on Friday, announced that it's Board of Directors has unanimously adopted a Shareholder "Rights Plan", also known as a "Poison Pill", as a step to defend against Tesla CEO Elon Musk's proposal to purchase the company for more than $43 billion and take it private.

BSE Sensex stumped over 237 points lower at 58,338.9 and Nifty fell over 55 points to close at 17,475.65 on Wednesday closing bell.
