Gross irregularities in Matric Board Exam

Bhubaneswar: The High School Certificate (HSC) examination, 2013 began on Monday with gross regularities in many parts of the state.

As many as 286 students of Keonjhar District were not able to appear in the exam as their admit card didn’t reach in time. In another incident in Baripada, Odia question papers were given to 11 students who opted Hindi medium during their form fill up for the exam. However, the students had no choice but to write the answers in Hindi of Odia question paper.

Meanwhile, around 654 students were booked for malpractices on the first day of the examination. The highest 87 cases of unfair means were reported from Jajpur district during the test for Odia paper.

Besides students, many teachers and exam-superintendents were also suspended for their allegedly involvement in the malpractices in the day one of the examination.

This year, total 5, 32,608 students including 58,000 ex-regular students appeared in the HSC examination.

Bonei MLA Shri Bhimsen Choudhury also appeared in the Matric Board Exam.

The State Government has accommodated 2,494 numbers of examination centres and 135 inspection squads to ensure a fair conduct in the examinations.

However, the Block Grant High School teachers boycott the examination across the state.
